About the show:

In A True(?) Ghost(?) Story(?) Billy shares stories and relics passed down from his mother’s mother’s mother–perhaps even from beyond the grave–and digs into how the objects and beliefs we inherit can haunt the way we live in and see the world.

Grappling with the politics and poetics of belief and skepticism, AT(?)G(?)S(?) approaches these tales of profound revelation and unbelievable coincidence from the shaky perspective of a theater artist–for whom material truth or proof are rarely necessary to “make belief” – when evidence and undeniable synchrony emerge in physical reality. Plus there’s a super cute picture of Billy as a baby.

Bio:

Billy Mullaney (US) is an Amsterdam-based artist working with devised theater, performance art, and choreography. New to storytelling, his work typically plays with the mode of spectatorship engendered by forms such as promotional film trailers (The Glory Machine), quantum physics lectures (SEMESTER), or sports fandom (The Agony and the Ecstasy of American Football as Enthusiastically Explained by Billy Mullaney). Billy is an associate artist of TILT; he is also a lecturer, a mathematics instructor, and an actor.
