About the show:

In GOAT Story – A Satire, theatre maker Nora Tinholt explores the thin and often absurd boundary between human and animal.

Through physical theatre, puppetry, masks and live music, the audience enters a sensory world of rituals, instincts and metamorphosis. Inspired by pre-Christian European traditions, rituals and mythological figures, the performance unfolds as a vivid and surreal landscape where words give way to movement, sound and imagination.

Live musicians Hassie Dune & Ania Brzezińska create an ever-changing soundtrack, drawing on funk, poetry, ceremonial grooves, Indian Carnatic music and jazz. Hypnotic loops, pentatonic melodies and playful improvisation become an integral part of the theatrical experience, responding directly to the action on stage.

A strange, touching and humorous journey into our connection with the animal that lives within us all.

Nora Tinholt (NL) is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of puppetry, mime, visual arts and performance. She trained at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, LASSAAD International School and Studio MAPA, and has specialised internationally in a wide range of puppetry techniques.
She creates puppets and masks from diverse materials and has collaborated with, among others, the international Snowapple collective and Duda Paiva Company. Since 2024, she has been part of Puppet Cabinet, a company she co-founded with Egon Adel, with whom she tours throughout Europe.
Alongside her work with Puppet Cabinet, Nora develops solo projects that place movement, life-size puppets and masks at the heart of the theatrical experience.

Hassie Dune (NL) & Ania Brzezińska (PL) create a vibrant musical universe where funk, poetry, Afro-grooves, Indian Carnatic music and jazz come together in an exciting contemporary sound. They work with irresistible danceable grooves, catchy loops, pentatonic melodies, generous shots of improvisation and a good dose of humour — all wrapped up in a positive and uplifting message.

For this performance, drawing on their rich musical backgrounds, Hassie Dune and Ania Brzezińska create a haunting, ceremonial soundscape that evokes ancient rituals, instinct and transformation, weaving live music into the performance as an almost ritualistic presence.
