TALK: The pearl

About the talk:

A pearl begins with an irritation – a wound around which something beautiful slowly takes shape. Through artists such as Van Gogh, The Pearl explores the mysterious relationship between suffering and creation, between mental disturbance and extraordinary vision: when does a wound obscure reality, and when might it allow us to see something others cannot?

Every year, we organize exciting talks with artists of the festival, scientists, and experts in various disciplines. This year, the subjects we have chosen are informed by the theme of the Seer: the dark side of one’ s psyche, seeing the impending future, and pondering what happens behind the veil of death.
